During
my Fine Art degree in Canterbury, I supported myself by working in
restaurants and after graduation assisted food photographers working
with some of the country's top chefs; needless to
say, I Iearned a lot.
My passion for food outweighed
my passion for photography and led me to work for two years as a chef at
Coq d'Argent and start a catering company. I also worked as a private
chef for many City firms, cooking great lunches for big cheeses. My favourite cookbooks are Roast
Chicken and Other Stories by Simon Hopkinson, the Les Halles
Cookbook by Anthony Bourdain, Larousse
Gastronomique, and The Congressional Club Cookbook from
1927, although I'm finding it
difficult to bring myself to cook 'Lungs with dumplings' by Mme Edgar
Prochnik, wife of the Minister from
Austria.
